jowee, leo, joy, pat, kuya mike, and i went to go see slanted comedy @ the hollywood improv because we thought it was free. well, there was no entrance fee, but once we entered we were told: 2 item limit. yes, we had to order at least 2 items per person! we sat down and started looking at the menu. prices didn't seem too crazy (soda for $2.25). then when the guy started to take our order, he said we were looking at the wrong menu and prices were really higher (soda for $3.50).
watched some funny people, some hilarious people, and some really not funny people. but all in all, i laughed quite a bit. i thought jokoy was supposed to be there, but i guess he's a flaker. (2nd time he was scheduled to perform and didn't come.)
so the waiter gave us our check before the show was over and since we coudln't really talk amongst ourselves to figure out who owed what, i decided to just put it on my card (i had no cash anyway). i didn't have a chance to analyze the receipt until right now. turns out:
- they charged us 9% sales tax (instead of 8.25%) as well as 15% gratuity.
- my online statement lists $5.48 more than the receipt said.
- they brought out spinach artichoke dip even though the person who ordered it cancelled their order; someone else didn't know the order was cancelled so ate it anyway.
- other prices weren't the same either (i think people might've paid for the price on the wrong menu).
