soon ah will be done!

this time next week, i will be taking my last final for my second year of college. w00t!

punctuality. when i started college, i was so proud of my punctuality. 2 years later and i'm late for everything.

shoe heads are crazy. there's a shoe store in west covina that has a frequent shoe buyer card. buy 10 shoes, get one free! (or something like that.)

i wanna find my twin. well, actually, not really. i wouldn't wanna see another me. but it would still be cool.

Life

I took some time to think about my future today. No, not just what I want to do for the next five years, but what I'd like to do when I'm having my mid-life crisis in my 40's.

Then it hit me how young I really am. I know I've always been the younger one, but, dude, I really am young. I haven't even hit the 20 mark yet! I have so much of my life left to live.

Who decided to have us work for most of our lives? We have some fun time as kids, then we spend a chunk of time going to school, but once we hit our twenties, we have about forty years of work ahead of us! Why are people in such a rush to grow up...?

Anyway... Growing up, I always assumed I would get married and have kids. During my teens, I went back and forth through the spectrum, from knowing exactly who I wanted to marry to being completely opposed to the notion of marriage. In recent months, I thought that I would be content being a single working woman. After all, having a family would be a hindrance to the job of a on-the-go consultant, wouldn't it?

But today, I looked at my proposed timeline of events, and it looked pretty empty having just a list of jobs. After a long day at work, I don't want to come home to an empty house. I know I'll never be #1 mom or wife, but I'd still like to try. It'll definitely be a challenge, what with 9 year olds having MySpace's, cell phones, and iPods.

::sigh:: Wherever life takes me, I hope I'm happy.

Casio Exilim Z750

You are mine.

PC World's Best Buy

I ordered it around 03:00 from Amazon.com for $300. I got "overnight shipping" but due to the weekend/holiday it won't get here until Wednesday, but it's still in time to capture teh month's events:
  • 01: pNotes nite
  • 02: CIS interclub banquet
  • 03: pGrad
  • 04: beta gamma sigma installation
  • 08: beach day, girls' nite out
  • 10: barkada's end of the year banquet
  • 11: my sister's graduation
  • 12-29: philippines!
woot!

I wanted to get the exilim s600 in blue, but read that the shutter speed & picture quality aren't that great, and those are some of the things I wanted to improve about my digi cam.

Summary of improvements:
  • 7.2 MP instead of 4
  • unlimited length of mpeg 4 movies (well, as much as the memory can handle) instead of 1 min
  • 2.5" LCD screen instead of 1.6"
  • 325 pictures per battery charge vs. 160
  • faster start up
  • 30 best shot scene modes
Yay!

girliness / graduations

I went shopping. (= I bought a dress for my sister's graduation (June 11). It's so girly:

Ivory/ Brown Strapless Dress from Windsor

And I was thinking of getting mani/pedicures, too. O=

That's one thing I like about this season: new clothes. There are graduations, weddings, and banquets, all of which need new outfits. (=

But at the same time, this time of year isn't so great. Graduations. People leaving and moving on, bringing me closer to the realization that one day soon, before I know it, I'll be the one walking down to grab my empty diploma frame. With so many people graduating this year, though, it feels like I should be graduating, too. o.O

I seem to continually surround myself with people older than I am--ever since elementary, actually; it's part of the reason why I wanted to move up to 4th grade. Older people. They have experience and knowledge.

I wonder if anyone will ever view me as an "older person." I still haven't had an ading. In high school, I never became a "big sis." Even now, I haven't become an "Ate" in Barkada. Why do I keep clinging on to my younger sibling status?

Eh.

Miscellaneous:
  • I told my dad I didn't want to become a millionaire. He laughed and didn't understand why I said that.
  • Lately I've been listening to Ella & Billie, as well as the SGA Chorale & MADZ.
  • I don't like putting nails in my walls.
  • I can't find my digi cam...
  • Why don't certificates ever fit in frames properly?

(=

I went to Aardvark's Odd Ark (thrift store) today to look for a dress for Barkada's End of the Year Banquet ("Harlem Nights"). Jowee, Fallon, and I were so lucky to actually find something! I'm uberly happy w/ my purchase!
  1. it's turquoise
  2. it actually fits me
  3. it was $10!
OOG (oh our god)! Seriously, what are the chances that I would find a dress in the color I wanted that actually fits me pretty well and only cost 10 freakin' bucks?! Oh man, man.

News: unfortunately, I was not selected to be a President's Council Scholar this year. It's okay, though, cuz I got the R. Bruce Ray one (same amount).

Randomity:
  • I need a gym partner or something.
  • From what I hear, I think my speech for academics chair was effective.
  • Lou Bega.
  • Morons don't learn lessons.
  • I think I'm a junior already.
  • Never give up, but feel free to litter. (No, I do not advocate trashing our world.)
  • Yes, I do realize that it is a Friday night and I'm at home with my parents.
  • I need to buy a camera before we leave for the Philippines.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar is teh awesome! Too bad I'm barely using it now. It so could've helped out this year. I heart how it's color coded and events are shareable.

Google is bound to take over your life.

good things

On stressful days like today, it helps to receive good news. There have been quite a few good things in life this past week:
  • PACN!!!
  • R. Bruce Ray Scholarship (I got an e-mail today saying I got it for 2006-2007.)
  • Nomination into Beta Gamma Sigma
  • Decent grade on an exam for my database class that I felt I poorly on
  • Good grade on the career plan that I procrastinated on (and actually turned in late)
  • Got let out of my 8-10pm class an hour early today!
PACN was awesome. Could've been better, but I guess there's always room for improvement. I'm gonna miss practices. (There was a "Light Club" meeting tonight, though.) Khaing's pictures of May Bukas Pa. I'll post my own pictures later.

Randomness:
  • Happy 23rd & 21st Birthdays to MRPEDRO & Narith!
  • Strawberry shortcake ice cream thingie things are gooooood.
  • Sometimes plans backfire.
  • There's another Erin in Barkada; it's weird. (And an Aaron Manalo. ...kinda)
  • Just a few more weeks...
Btw, thanks to everyone who came out to watch our PACN. It really does mean a lot that I have the support of my friends. (=

Gmail Pictures?

What are Gmail Pictures?

Wow. Now Gmail lets you add pictures to your contacts. What next? Will they play a sound when a certain person send you an e-mail?

stop. think. wait a minute.

Talking. It's amazing how merely talking can alleviate stresses.

It's comforting that after all these years I can tell you what's been going on in my life for the past year at 5 in the morning. As much drama as we've put each other through, that's amazing.

It's interesting, as well, to see how much time you spend talking about gibberish. Lately, I actually find myself just listening to nonsense pretty frequently. But as nonsensical as it is, I still do it. Hours of accents, impressions, rockets, and sometimes just syllables...

Once in a while, though, a deeper conversation topic does come up. Life, Barkada, relationships...

It's been an informative weekend. I find myself opening up more and more...

After San Diego, the kuyas took me home. It was weird. We were talking to my parents. Well, actually, my parents were talking to them and I sat there. Hahah. (Btw, we finally got our tickets for the Philippines!!!)

Stop. Think. Wait a minute.

Things are changing. Where will things go from here?

itc: over!

itc is finally over! well, almost. there are still tasks here and there.

overall, i think it went well. of course there were some issues.

i shouldn't be allowed to speak in public if i don't have time to prepare what i have to say. it's weird because i've taken a speech class, i acted and sang in front of hundreds of people and i performed my monologue just a few weeks ago, but for some reason, i was extremely nervous talking on saturday... i know part of it was because i hadn't prepared my speech cuz i was so busy working on other things, but still. T= minus points for me.

btw, i SO wanna work for hitachi consulting!

and another thing i noticed... it's been an expensive quarter! i mean, aside from rising gas prices, i spent a couple bills on professional clothes, i ate out for a whole week last last week, i bought supplies for itc, and now i have to pay for pcn ads... i would like to thank my mom, though, because she paid for my gas tonight. yay!

ah will be done

soon ah will be done
with the troubles of the world
troubles of the world
the troubles of the world...

::breathe in/out::

itc will be done in about a day and half;
concert choir the week after that;
pacn the week after that.

amidst all that there are missa events, work deadlines, and tons of school work.

328 is kicking mya ss.

i don't know how it's happening, but i'm getting more and more involved w/ pacn. at first i said i wasn't going to do it at all. then i decided to do a dance. then i decided to do 2 dances. ..then 3. and now i have a very minor acting role. wtf?! oh well. it's fine.

i just have to keep remembering...

it's doable, it's doable, it's doable.

i have an interview with hitachi consulting (in orange) in about 5 hours and i haven't gone to sleep yet.

orange. hahah. oright, yelleft!

mcgraw-hill

McGraw-Hill r teh awesome!

Their online learning center really helps. They have PowerPoint slides, Excel spreadsheets, practice quizzes, and chapter summaries.

You only need their books for the problems.

Anywho, I have my Operations Management midterm in a few hours, my Consumer Behavior midterm tomorrow, and the first 7 pages of my research paper on Customer Relationship Management in the Health Care Industry due tomorrow.

Oh yeah. ITC-X is coming, too.
