I posted the following on a MySpace Bulletin earlier today.

My 2nd cousin, Officer Abram Yap of the Long Beach PD, was shot in the jaw this past Friday by a guy named Oscar Manuel Gallegos who is still on the loose. My cousin is still in critical condition...

I'm not the most religious person, but please pray for him, his family, and the other officer and his family.

It's weird. It always happens... You always see it on TV but never think it could happen to you or someone you know.

I didn't even know my cousin was on the police force. (Had I known, I probably would've mentioned it to get out of jury duty last week...) Obviously, we aren't close and I don't remember much about him. (My sister remembers seeing him in her old birthday home videos.) He's almost double my age and about 50 miles from where I live. Regardless, he's family.

It's the holidays. Around this time people always talk about family time. I hadn't been spending much time w/ my family as it is, but then this happens... and then you... I dunno.

You always think that family will be there cuz they're, well, family. You think college is right now, friends are right now. This is the time to be young and have fun. You still gotta remember the family, though...

At the moment in time, I'm still fortunate to have never lost anyone close to me to death. I know many others have, especially within the past year. Even though you don't know what they're going through, though, you still gotta be there for them...

a little under 2 weeks left. wtf? time went by so quickly.

how is it that it's called a break and yet i feel like i still have a million things to do?

i just want to chillax tonight.

...i don't chill [the way i planned to] yet i don't get stuff done. what do i spend my time doing?

i know i just hung out last nite, but after a crappy day @ the riverside county courts, it feels like a week ago.

complaints? yes. not necessary, but damn, i'm cranky.

not sure if anyone still reads this but here goes...

for some reason, this year it's been hard to come up with a wish list. i mean, there's stuff i want, but not really anything someone else would buy for me (like a whole new compie set up or boots).

here's what i've been telling people:

1. food gift cards: L&L, in-n-out, jamba juice, starbucks, etc
2. clothing gift cards: ae, aero, hollister co.
   
3. electronics gift cards: best buy, new egg

point being: i need money. (=

rather than directly asking people for cash, i can use gift cards to get stuff i want and use the money i have for gas money.

oh, the life of a college student.

stuff you won't get me but i'll get for myself (hopefully)

• boots ( black boots... for walkin'. (= )
• white shoes
• grey chucks
• brown slip on chucks
• blue slip-on vans (maybe the green, blue, grey ones?)
• some sort of organization/storage system cuz my room is a mess right now.

btw, today is my first day of jury duty. zomg!

nm. i checked friday and it said i was supposed to go in @ 1:30 today. my parents kept asking me if i checked and i told them i checked on friday. they asked if i checked again and i said, well, i don't think they'd change it. well... they did.

compie, you are so outdated

i was planning to overhaul my compie cuz it keeps shutting off randomly & shizz (it's been happening ever since i got my new mobo). taking a look at prices and consulting others, i've found that it's gonna take quite a bit to get my system up to par.
