borderlines

It's really interesting the kinds of borderlines we set up.

"I mean, I'm not perfect, but the least he/she/they could've done was _____________."

But what determines what that is? More likely than not, it based on what we have done or what we think we would've done in the situation. So what does that mean? Are we measuring the world and using ourselves as the ruler?

And, yes, now I have Madonna's song "Borderline" stuck in my head.
