quick finish?

Beginning this September, with the start of the 2005-06 curriculum year, the CIS Department will be reducing the number of units to graduate from 198 to 186 units.
omg! with that, i just figured out that if i took a full load this summer (instead of taking the summer off) i could have graduated in 3 years total! =O !!!

but do i want to?

i just reorganized my classes, and i can be finished after fall 2007. that's before i turn 21! but do i want to do that? i can take only the classes i need to (around 16 units/quarter) and be done by the aforementioned date and get into the work force a lil earlier... or i can take my time, take classes that i want to (just for fun), and graduate in 2008 as planned.

btw, this is w/ a marketing minor.

i can still graduate in 3 w/o the marketing minor... but how impressive is that? actually, nevermind. CIS courses probably have a set sequence. ::kicks self:: i knew i should've taken java w/ applets this summer!!!

i think i wanna stick w/ the marketing minor, tho. lately, i've been contemplating over if business was the best major to choose... unlike sciences or humanities which stay constant throughout the changing times, business, and even more so w/ technology specific courses, seems applicable to the now. our bodies have always worked the same way. people have been asking what the meaning to life is for ages. we can learn from our mistakes w/ history.

but with something like computer information systems, it seems like... i'm just living for the now. i know that with some CIS students just a few years ago, they were sitll learning smallTalk which is pretty much obsolete right now. it's like we're learning how to survive in this moment right now. but i guess learning what we know now can help us understand technology in the future...

if anyone reads this, which i really doubt they do, let me know which path you think i should take!
