So the Java world is not my friend at the moment. My assignment is due this Thursday and I still have so many errors. It's my fault, though. I kept procrastinating. Even yesterday (Sunday) I was still trying to avoid my fate. In Outlook, I scheduled 3 hours to program in the afternoon. Somehow, I ended up shopping instead. Yup... But I got quite a bit! 4 stores, 9 articles of clothing, and $120. My brown wardrobe has increased by 4 (5 if you want to count the Thrice shirt I bought from the concert). The purpose of the shopping trip was to buy business-y clothes; sorry--no cigar. Well, somewhat. I also feel kind of bad because I told myself I wasn't going to shop as much. So much for that. Today is payday.

awesomeness
Today would've been a great day for picture taking. Too bad I didn't take any. T= Anyway...
It started out chaotic. I didn't go to volleyball class today. (Don't worry, I'll make it up on Tuesday.) I had to print out flyers & agendas for ITC at work, cut them all at the APISC, give them to Jennifer at the CLA, then hurry over to the stables for pNotes practice for Barkada's First General Meeting.
Barkada's FGM was AWESOMENESS! I didn't do much socializing, though... I don't know why I'm so timid at times. Anyway! The performances weren't too shabby! pNotes performed the American and Philippine national anthems. I hope we sounded okay. E-boarders performed tinikling. They deserve some seeeerious props for that because they were barefoot on the HOT stage. (Keep in mind this was outdoors during the noon hour.) Dedication... Then there was b.Mod. O! M! G! Their performance was... incredible! And dancing isn't really my thing. hahah. When the video is up, I will definitely blog about it. The story was cute. hahah. But the dancing... wow. Awesomeness! It was long, but I wanted them to keep going. d= Great job, b.Mod! And if you messed up, I did not notice at all.
Then there was the school part. (hahah) Work for a couple of hours. Java class for another hour and a half (it actually wasn't too bad). ITC meeting for another hour...
Which brings us to 6pm. I went to the API for half an hour of chilling... sat in on the Anong Balita meeting. I want to be an editor. T= Being the anal retentive person I am, I think I could do a decent job, especially with what I've learned from working at the Annual Fund. I don't know if I can add more to my plate, though. I have meetings "up the wazoo."
At 6:30, I went to look for the MSA Iftar at the stables. They ended up being at Ursa Major. I learned more about Ramadan, broke my fast, and met a few people. The abstaining from food wasn't too hard, although it sucked in the morning because my dad cooked breakfast. The difficult part for me was not drinking any water! It was hard on a hot day like yesterday when I had to sing, as well. But if you put it into perspective, Ramadan originated in the Middle East (if I'm not mistaken) where it's so much hotter than it is here. In addition to that, they recite prayers and such were are pretty much like songs. If they can do it for a month, I can do it for a day. I'd like to continue, but I'm eating out with my family today. It's also a good cause because MSA is raising funds to help out Katrina victims. For each person that fasts, a sponsor will donate some money. I'd also like to clean out my system a bit, get energized, and exercise some self restraint. It does seem to go down the drain though, since I seem to eat a bunch afterward. Oh well.
I was planning to go to Speedzone for Barkada's little social gathering. Somehow, I ended up talking to my kuya, Mike Pedro, and Bobot for hours. It was fun, though. "Do everything!" After chatting at Ursa Major, we went to Lollicup (by Mt. SAC) and Bot treated us. (= Green apple slush w/ mini boba! We discussed quite a bit. "We're BAC!" (I really hope they go w/ that acronym.) If we can find the commitment, pNotes is going to be great this year! I'm so excited! A-board is going to be interesting, as well. I don't know if I can add that onto the plate, too. But if I can, I so want to do it! What else did we discuss? Quarterly fasting parties! pNotes sponsored Karaoke Nights! pNotes performances! "Do everything!"
Well, of course you can't do everything. You can do anything, but you really have to set a limit. I want to be involved in so much...
I should sleep. I still have class... Today: CIS 310, work, Olive Garden w/ the family (if time permits), and Beethoven Unbound. Saturday: Historic Filipinotown w/ Barkada and Knott's Scary Farm with "the Friendzies." Sunday: a little bit of shopping (?) and a lot of programming... I wanted to go to the AIDS walk to help volunteer, but I'm going to be tired after Knott's and I have a lot of hw to do. T=

what happened here?
what has happened here?
a 180 in less than 2 years
you're suppressing their voices
twisting each word
manipulating their choices
and that's only part of what i've heard
the education's still mediocre
aren't you supposed to be teachers?
shouldn't they be learning
instead of getting put on stakes for burning?
shouldn't you be caring?
and not coming down and tearing
them down when they try to reach up
shouldn't you give a f*ck?
shouldn't you be helping?
there are enough problems in this world
enough challenges for them to face
without the drama you create
the problems you orchestrate
so they're not your ideal
does that mean you shouldn't feel?
you shouldn't care?
you shouldn't mentor?
i thought that's what you all were meant for
the Name you claim is far from what you show
you're closer to what's below
how can you stand there
up where you are
when by far
you make them think they're under par
it's a good thing you aren't the only one
that they learn from
if you were, they'd be lost
and they would be dumb
actually, that's what you're trying to do
keep them from learning, taking away their voices, too
you're in desperate need of mediation
are you happy with your creation?
after all, this is your vocation
your stagnation
your mutation
no longer that of your foundation
where is your salvation?
i'm appalled by this revelation
i'm disgusted by this situation
your determination to uphold discrimination
is a manifestation of the truth
that you're lying to the youth
after all this, it's still not clear
what the hell has happened here?
